Svadhyaya Psychotherapy, Inc

Svadhyaya is a Sanskrit word that means self-study. As a clinical psychologist and certified yoga instructor, I have 30 years of experience helping clients explore and understand themselves more deeply. Through collaborative therapeutic dialogue, clients become aware of the patterns held in their psyche, and in their bodies, that interfere with the peace and ease of well being. Through a compassionate and socratic style of inquiry, my clients have the opportunity to explore unconscious and often maladaptive beliefs, typically entrenched early in life, due to the influence of familial, cultural and societal expectations and conditioning. Clients typically come to therapy because of a current and often acute issue or challenge from which they seek relief and resolution. Commonly, patterns of thought, feeling and behavior will reveal themselves. Through self observation and reflection, clients gain greater awareness of how these patterns operate and are able to develop the agency and mastery to break them.
